Why this blog?
I have been creating photo books for the last 2 years. The more I create and share them, the more questions I get about how others can do this. People think that I am brilliant, but the secret is that it's really not that hard. I've provided project ideas and helpful tips to many people to get them started or to help them get to a better result more quickly. Someone suggested I start a blog to share it more publicly - and here I am!
What is photo booking?
There is scrapbooking for those who enjoy the paper crafts and digital scrapbooking for those who know how to use PhotoShop - but what is photo booking?
Photo booking allows anyone with a pc, internet connection and digital
images to making inspirational and creative books to preserve and share life memories
in new and compelling ways. Photo books are typically perfect-bound
professional looking books created online - but printed from a number
of online companies such as Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, Picaboo or others.
The Addiction
I knew I was addicted to photo booking when I made my first book and I got such a huge positive reaction from family and friends. I started off with simple projects like the story of my daughter's first year, but have since created books to tell many stories about family and friends. It's amazing that without learning sophisticated tools like PhotoShop, I can finally express the creativity that's always been there. It's really easy...
Inspiration
Before you decide to embark on your first photo book, you need to have an inspiration. This blog is largely dedicated to inspirational project ideas -- as well as other helpful tips. Inspiration can from a story you want to tell for you -- or from making a unique keepsake to give as a gift to family or friends.
I actually keep a running list of project ideas just for me. It's a list that I refer to when I've got a few minutes at night and am feeling the need to be creative or make a unique gift. I will be sharing some of these ideas publicly - and will ask that people reading this share theirs back to me!
Check back for ideas, tips and thoughts often!
